A splendid echo
I heard a splendid echo, said the mountain
she wondered if the mountain lied
but the old seldom do
they have no use for it
why would she hear an echo
if she is the opposite of a cave?
speculation arose
maybe she was torn apart by thunder
or a train pierced through her belly
or men were mining cole and gold
and the echo was in fact, the cry of a gargle
or maybe the sea, once remote
now splashes her —-kneeling
but the mountain was not inclined to explain
she looked devilish and very confident
that hers was a splendid, splendid echo
